MASTODON's 'Leviathan' Named KERRANG!'s 2004 'Album Of The Year'
December 22, 2004MASTODON's latest release "Leviathan" has been named Kerrang! magazine's 2004 "Album of the Year". The year-end Kerrang! list was determined via a poll of the esteemed magazine's editors and contributing writers.
"Leviathan" was released on August 31 in North America and September 13 in Europe to fan and critical acclaim. The follow up to the band's heralded "Remission" album, "Leviathan" is based in part on Herman Melville's classic novel "Moby Dick" and has caused MASTODON — noted for their exhilarating live performances and unique sound — to become one of the most talked about acts in recent heavy music history.
MASTODON's "Leviathan" tops an impressive Kerrang!'s list including new releases from MASTODON labelmates THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and PIG DESTROYER. The full list of Kerrang!'s 2004 "Albums of the Year" can be found in the magazine's December 25, 2004 issue.
